A NOTE ABOUT PERMISSIONS AND LICENSING...

Recently there has been an enormous focus on permissions and licensing of music for show choirs. This was caused by several various situations, and in some respects, has addressed the age old issue about copyrights for show choir music. Music Arrangement Services has chosen to rely heavily on Tresona Multimedia for the majority of its arrangement permissions. They do very good work and have made it possible for music to now be sold over and over without the restrictions of other companies. This makes arrangements available to show choir directors without having to constantly make changes.

On that note, please know that the way you receive your music from now on has changed. The process is simple:
- You contact Music Arrangement Services about a piece of music
- Jeff Bowen submits a request for each title to Tresona
- Tresona does their best to obtain the rights for your school for each title you need.
- Tresona sends the license agreement to Music Arrangement Services
- The signed agreement is sent back with payment to Tresona
- After the music has been updated with the proper copyright information, all files (scores and mp3s) are emailed to Tresona
- Tresona contacts you, the director, with codes to access all your scores and files from their website. They even create a page just for your school.
- You go to your webpage and put in codes to download all your scores at no charge.

Whenever music is licensed through Tresona, Music Arrangement Services cannot email music directly to you. Legally, the music must be obtained from their website.

Please know that Tresona does their absolute best to get licensing for each and every request - they are looking out for all of us, directors, show choirs and arrangers. However, just like the rest of us, if they do not get the green light from the license holder or publisher, it all comes to a halt. My best advice to all directors is that you have back pieces for each song you are considering for your show. It is also HIGHLY RECOMMENDED to keep in mind that it sometimes takes up to two months to get the licensing for a title. It's best to book early and request early.
